The emergence and distribution of multi-drug resistant (MDR) bacteria is a serious problem in human and veterinary medicine, often leading to zoonoses and posing a global threat to public health.

Bacteriophages may be a promising solution for the treatment of MDR bacteria as an additive or alternative to antibiotic therapy. The phage centre will present its research findings on the efficacy of bacteriophages in veterinary practice at the BSAVA congress in Manchester.
