We are thrilled that our Business Development Manager, Debbie Cox, has won this year’s New Marketing Talent Award in association with the VMA. This award is aimed at those who have only been in a marketing role for fewer than five years and believe they show some marketing flare. The competition is intense with a video presentation, submission of a portfolio of work and a gruelling live case study with questioning from a panel of marketing experts. We asked Debbie a few questions about her experience….

Why did you enter the competition? BattLab has some unique selling points, personable, speedy and professional. This formed the basis of our marketing communication along with a clear ‘independent business’ emphasis. Like so many companies, communicating with clients has been challenging since March 2020. We don’t have the budget of some of the bigger companies, therefore we make the most of our resources.

How did you find the process? Tough, it required critical analysis of our marketing plan in turn this helped us identify what is working well and more importantly what is not.

What next? The winner has a training bursary so I have enrolled on my Chartered Institute of Marketing Level 3 course. I also benefit from one-to-one coaching and will sit on the VMA committee for a year. This way, I can add value to my role by developing my marketing skills and work with a team of similar minded individuals on the committee, very exciting. In turn, I hope to share skills with the wider LABOKLIN team.
